Overview
As part of our growing team, we are looking for a skilled and driven Senior Web Developer to help elevate our digital presence and client success through custom WordPress and Elementor projects. This is a remote position, giving you the flexibility to work from anywhere while playing a key role in the development of high-performance, aesthetically pleasing websites. You’ll have the opportunity to take the lead on web development projects, crafting custom builds that are both aesthetic and functional.
In this position, you’ll be responsible for building and maintaining WordPress websites, implementing custom development solutions, and optimising performance for a variety of clients, ranging from entrepreneurs to established SMEs. You will be involved from the early planning stages right though to the final implementation, ensuring that each project is delivered on time, meets client objectives, and performs seamlessly across all platforms.
You’ll collaborate with internal teams to bring creative ideas to life while ensuring functionality and user experience are top priorities. This role offers the chance to work on both custom builds and smaller site optimisations, giving you the variety and challenges needed to grow your skill set. Responsibilities
Typical tasks and responsibilities for this Senior Web Developer role include but are not limited to:
- Build, customise and maintain a range of websites, including but not limited to WordPress via Elementor, HMTL, Bootstrap and other custom development solutions.
- Lead web development projects from concept to completion, ensuring high standards of functionality, usability, and design.
- Implement custom CSS solutions to ensure pixel-perfect front-end execution.
- Collaborate with the Design team to integrate high-quality visuals and interactive elements.
- Troubleshoot and optimise website performance, ensuring fast loading times, mobile responsiveness, and cross-browser compatibility.
- Stay up to date with the latest web development trends and technologies to continually improve our development practices.
- Oversee website migrations, updates, and security measures to ensure smooth operations.
- Provide technical leadership on projects and mentor junior developers if required.
Skills & Desirables
The skills and desirable to perform in this Senior Web Developer role include but are not limited to:
- At least 3 years of experience in web development, with a strong focus on WordPress and Elementor.
- Extensive knowledge of custom development, including PHP, CSS and JavaScript.
- Experience working with custom CSS to create seamless, visually appealing designs.
- Proven ability to manage and lead web development projects, ensuring timely and quality delivery.
- Strong understanding of responsive design principles and how to create user-friendly websites that work across devices.
- Experience with performance optimisation techniques, including caching, image optimisation, and code mimification.
- A positive, ‘can-do’ attitude and a hard worker. Given this opportunity is remote, a strong sense of get-up-and-go is required to get the job done independently.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential, as you’ll need to collaborate effectively with clients and internal teams.
- A keen eye for design and detail, with the ability to implement clean, high-quality code.
- A strong familiarity with SEO best practices and website performance metrics.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and debug effectively.
- Ability to work independently and remotely, managing your time and projects effectively.
